Storm-Related Water Intrusion

The Almaville corridor takes its share of severe weather: spring squall lines moving down from Smyrna and Nashville, occasional tornado-warned storms, and routine multi-inch summer downpours. Roof flashing failures and wind-driven rain at gable ends produce attic moisture that often goes undetected until the next year, when interior drywall begins to stain or a musty smell reaches the upstairs hallway.

When to Pair Remediation with Encapsulation

For the older Almaville homes still on vented crawl spaces, full encapsulation paired with a sized dehumidifier is the only intervention that reliably stops the problem from coming back. Spot remediation on a humid crawl will look clean for one season and start showing growth again the next. The economics usually favor doing the encapsulation alongside the cleanup rather than scheduling it as a separate project.
